If you've ever said, "I was born with a sweet tooth," you were probably right. According to taste researchers, sweetness is one of our first flavour experiences.
That sweet taste usually comes from one of two types of sweeteners: sugars, also called nutritive sweeteners, which provide kilojoules or energy, and non-nutritive sweeteners, which provide few or no kilojoules. They're also known as low-kilojoule sweeteners, sugar substitutes and artificial sweeteners.
Non-nutritive sweeteners have been under constant scrutiny as new low or zero-kilojoule products come out in the market.

Healthy snacking can help you manage your hunger, concentration and performance throughout the day. This is especially true in the afternoon, usually between 2 -4pm when our body clock hits a natural dip, causing us to feel lower in energy and often results in a carving for something sweet.
