We know that you have concerns about the environment and the impact today's actions will have on our lives and those of our children in the future. The Coca-Cola Company takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously - we are advancing environmentally friendly technologies in our refrigeration program and we're committed to improving water management practices.

HFCs (hydroflourocarhons) are 1,300 times more potent than C02. As a company we have committed to becoming at least 40 percent more energy efficient in our refrigeration program by 2010 (compared to 2000). We're currently working in a global partnership with McDonald's, Unilever, Greenpeace and others to pursue adoption of HFC-free refrigeration technologies which will help phase out HFCs altogether.

We're also engaging our own scientists and external experts to better understand the risks climate change will pose for global water. Water is the lifeblood of our business. Reducing water scarcity and enhancing water quality are direct and vital business concerns for The Coca-Cola Company. Our four-fold strategy involves:

Becoming best-in-class at water management - both in water use efficiency and wastewater management
Helping ensure access to clean drinking water in underserved communities where we operate
Supporting the protection of watersheds in water-stressed communities where we operate
Helping mobilize the international community to drive global awareness and action around water challenges
